This course applies to those who are required to perform Rigging activities as part of their role.

It is the first of the three different levels of rigging.

DEFINITION - NSW SafeWork
Rigging work means the use of mechanical loadshifting equipment (and associated gear) to move, place or secure a load using plant, equipment or members of a building or structures, to ensure the stability of those members or the setting up or dismantling of cranes or hoists.

Consists of dogging and rigging work involving:

- movement of plant and equipment
- steel erection
- hoists (including mast climbing hoists)
- placement of precast concrete
- safety nets and static lines
- perimeter safety screens and shutters
- cantilevered crane loading platforms

Entry Requirements

Pre-requisites
Must have and be able to produce a current National HRWL to perform dogging or a current certification for a specific VET course for HRWL to perform dogging that has been issued by, or on behalf of a WHS Regulator.

Assessment Requirements

100 points of ID (see downloads below)

Materials or Equipment Required

- Learning materials are provided.
- Please bring enclosed footwear, high vis shirt (vest available), 100 points of ID, hard hat (if owned), weather suitable clothing and Lunch.
- Tea & Coffee Provided.

USI

All students commencing nationally recognised training in Australia are required to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to be able to obtain their certificate or qualification from their registered training organisation.
